My new roommates 😊

I’ve fulfilled a long-held dream of mine!
Siegfried and Roy have been living in our garden for a week now ❤️


Aren’t they just the cutest?! They have a large outdoor area to roam and a spacious stable, and they seem to be absolutely loving it ❤️

Congratulations on the new additions.😍 Those two little ones are so cute.
How old are they, and are they going to stay as bucks, or will they be neutered? In the long run, I can imagine it might be difficult with two males, especially when there are kids in the house.
In any case, I hope you have lots of fun with Siegfried and Roy.

They’ve already been neutered—it was done early on at the breeder’s (using the rubber band method). They’re still very young, just 4 months old. They’re twins.
We did a lot of research beforehand. Our kids were taught certain behavioral rules from the very beginning (e.g., don’t pet them between the horns, “fighting games” are forbidden, etc.). We also don’t give them treats, etc., both to promote the best possible health and to prevent begging.
Thank you so much—I think they’ll do very well here, and we’ll get a lot of joy from them.

I’m familiar with that begging behavior from the pony we used to have. Whenever the kids had an ice cream cone in their hands, Sternchen would be right there to take a bite...

Ooooh, they’re so cute! It would be hard for me to be strict with them.

Thank you for showing us your new roommates—and twins, no less. You really wouldn’t want to separate them. You’ve got quite the little idyllic petting zoo there. How many animals do you have in total now? I guess a group photo isn’t possible :-)

We now have (only) 15 hens—though I’m planning to cut that back to 10—plus 7 quails, 4 tortoises, 1 dog, 1 cat, 2 budgies, 3 rabbits, various aquarium fish, and the two little bucks.

Congratulations on your little zoo! I’d love to have that much space, too.

As idyllic as it looks, it’s also a lot of work—summer and winter, 7 days a week. You leave the zoo after a visit… and then the work falls to the others. It’s great that everything works out so well for you, dear Nina, and that you can live out your dreams.
