Dear community,
if you still have some sock yarn / leftover sock yarn, then this is exactly the right thread for you. Here in the thread, and of course in the shop too, there are lots of exciting patterns for sock yarn / leftover sock yarn. Have fun with your new favorite sock yarn patterns.

@Designers:
You can each present 2–3 suitable patterns here, each with at least 25 sales / a CR of at least 3%, which must not have been advertised in the forum in the past 3 weeks. Don’t forget links, images, info, etc.

I like using sock yarn to crochet or knit doll clothes. Here are a few examples from my workshop. I hope you enjoy looking at them and making them yourself.

Warm regards from Ina

Cardigan for dolls

The cardigans are knitted as a top-down raglan in one piece. The length is variable. We don’t need to weave in any ends. Small amounts of leftover yarn are enough. You can knit them from solid-colored yarn, yarn with a color gradient, or a combination of both. Every cardigan will be one of a kind.

Long dress with slit

Small amounts of leftover sock yarn are enough for these pretty dresses, too. The dress is knitted in one piece and has a leg slit. Even knitting beginners can knit this dress very well.

Poncho with fringe for grown-ups

Finally, here’s a tip for adults. You can knit great things with sock yarn here, too. This casual poncho is knitted with 6-ply sock yarn. The knitting project is also suitable for knitting beginners, since we only knit knit stitches. The decorative edge with the fringe makes a pretty finish. When worn, the poncho looks casual and modern.

Sock yarn isn’t just for knitting or crocheting socks. You can use leftover scraps to create wonderful things.

These wrist warmers  were knitted from sock yarn using the patchwork technique. This is a great way to use up various leftover yarns. To make everything look harmonious, a single contrasting color (black here) is used. You’ll need about 20 g of that, plus another 20 g of colorful scraps. A loop on the middle finger keeps the wrist warmers from slipping down.

And here are two more examples for the crocheters among you:

:
For the Rainbow Fairy hand puppet I used two strands of rainbow-gradient sock yarn, because the fairy’s dress needed to match the thickness of the cotton yarn used for the head and hands. For the hair, I used a leftover bit of Kid Mohair.

And the seahorse Hippy was also made from a leftover bit of gradient sock yarn. I only used red sponge yarn for the comb because I wanted it to stick out firmly. I inserted some chenille wire into the tail so it curls nicely.

I also make hats from thick sock yarn.

Carla Hat was knitted from sock yarn weighing 150 grams with a yardage of 375 meters. The double cuff makes the hat nice and warm, and the cable pattern is a little eye-catcher.

The “socks of that stripe” socks are great for combining two leftover yarns.
