Pants Tote

My classmate brought me some pants the other day and said she’d like to turn one of the thin pairs into a unique bag—no problem. I cut off the legs, sewed them closed at the front (since the zipper was broken anyway), neatly sewed the bottom of the legs shut, and added straps—and there you have it: the pants bag.

I always like making these out of old jeans, too—they turn out to be really nice, sturdy bags.

Yeah, if your friend wants that, then you can do it that way and repurpose the old pair of pants. I wouldn’t walk around with it, though—it’s just not my style.

I sewed it from jeans, and with the wide straps, belt, and buckles, I think it looks cooler. Jeans just always work, somehow. But I don’t like the shopper made from the other pair of pants as much—I also think the handles are too narrow. It’s all a matter of taste, though.
