How do I split a ball of yarn into two equal halves?

Hi,

does anyone have a tip for me on how to divide a ball of yarn into two equal parts? I want each part to be the same size.

Off the top of my head, I’d say: Unwind it and weigh it.

So, weigh the ball before unwinding it, and then as you unwind it, keep placing the remaining portion of the original ball on the scale every so often and keep unwinding until half is left.
It probably won’t be exact to the centimeter, but that would be the “easiest” way.

Alternatively, you could measure it with a tape measure or a yardstick as you unroll it, but that’s enough to drive you crazy :D

I’ve done this once.
I started winding from the outside and then from the inside.
I checked the weight on the scale every now and then.
It worked great.

The best way is to unroll it and then weigh each ball.

Yeah, other than weighing them, I don’t have any other ideas either.

I also use the unwrap-and-weigh method.
