Hand puppets

Today I made three hand puppets for the children's charity—let's see if I can make some more :-)

Dear Inge, I think the idea of making hand puppets for the Kindertafel is great! They’re perfect for parents and kids to use in role-playing games. Please feel free to make more of them and create different characters. I really like the fox and the bear. Maybe the daycare centers have a puppet theater where your hand puppets could perform.

You could also make “little heroes” and “little scaredy-cats.” That way, the kids could work through their worries and fears. Since you have an embroidery machine, you could embroider something cool on the front of the items. I really like your new project with the hand puppets.

I’d also love to see little fairies with tulle or ruffles, or a Goldmarie and a Pechmarie. That would be a great way to act out fairy tales. Oh my, now I’m already thinking about your crafts. I’m absolutely sure you’ll come up with lots of great ideas.

I also have a collection of (crocheted, mind you) hand puppets. I started by designing the classic Kasperl characters (Kasperl, Gretel, Grandmother, Robber, Policeman, etc.). Animals (except for an Easter bunny) are still missing, but they’re in the works. In any case, there are so many possibilities, and I know that hand puppets are always a hit with kids because they seem so lifelike.
Definitely make some more, Inge! They’re sure to be a hit.

So today I added an owl to the hand puppets—I happened to come across the pattern for it in one of my folders :-)
