Wind and Sun Protection No. 2

Hi everyone,

I’m sure you all remember my colorful patchwork wind and sunshade for my grandchildren’s playhouse. They asked for a second one for the other side, so I made it for them. Here it is—take a look. I sewed a 3-cm-wide elastic band to the top and bottom. I folded the ends of the elastic band over and sewed them down securely several times. The loops created this way serve as the fasteners. I prefer this method of sewing the elastic band in place to a drawstring because nothing slips out of place.

Dear Monika, no, that wasn’t bedding. Once I knew the measurements, I searched online for a suitable cotton fabric. I actually wanted more childlike motifs, but I just couldn’t find the right one. So the mandalas won out. The vendor has lots of large mandalas in beautiful colors.

I’ve decided to buy a tablecloth with a mandala from there. It’s round and has fringe all around it. I have a big round table in my garden, so it would be perfect. It’s on my wish list.
