1 Pair of Felted Moccasins for Me

Hello, dear friends,

after I recently made the little felted house shoes for my grandson, while browsing through my wool stash I came across a new kind of felting wool. It has been around for a while, but I hadn’t tried it yet. Since “Snow” by Drops is often on sale and very inexpensive anyway, I bought some to try. And lo and behold, I’m very satisfied. Lovely felting wool, beautiful bold color that doesn’t bleed, and it felts nicely. Here you can see a size 39, and that means they fit me perfectly!

As great as these slippers look, they’re unfortunately not for me at all. Even at home, I need shoes that I can lace up so I have good stability and support, because my risk of falling is unfortunately very high.

They look so professional! I’m speechless.

Thanks, Petra, for your compliment. The trick to getting that professional look is definitely that I stretch the damp felted shoes over shoe trees. That way, they have no choice but to dry in that shape. The pattern of the shoes is, of course, already determined by the knitting. But it’s the shoe trees that give them their final shape.

I’m always blown away by your felted slippers. I love them and love wearing them myself. Especially because you make them using lasts, I can never get mine to turn out that well.
