Crocheting a small bathroom rug.

Hello,

I’d like to crochet a small bathroom rug. I ordered a 100g skein of G-B Sunny yarn with a length of 100m and a hook size of 6-7.

Now here’s my question: How far would one skein go if I crocheted it in a circle, oval, or rectangle?

Hi Jacco, that’s going to be really tiny. How big do you want the rug to be? I just crocheted two myself and know that you need quite a bit of yarn for them.

Hmm, I hadn’t really thought about the size yet. I just started with a rectangle that’s 46 cm wide. (Our bathroom isn’t exactly big ;) ) Now I want to see how far I can get. I’m crocheting with double crochet stitches.

Hi!

You’ll only get a few rounds out of that at most.
Maybe it would be a good idea for you and your project to cut up old T-shirts and jersey bed sheets into narrow strips and turn them into crochet yarn. There are great tutorials online for this. And I think it works perfectly for a rug (whether for the bathroom or anywhere else). Plus, it’s more cost-effective than store-bought yarn.
