Crocheting a Jacket

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how many chain stitches I need for the back piece
and for the front pieces?
I wear size 56–58.
I can’t tell from my old jacket anymore.
I bought 1,000 g of yarn. Is that enough?

Dear Judith,
No one can give you a general answer to that, because the number of chain stitches always depends on the yarn and hook size, the pattern, and, of course, your personal crocheting style (everyone works with a different tension).
For such large projects, please always make a gauge swatch using the yarn you plan to use, in the desired pattern (even if it’s just double crochet), and scale it up to the desired jacket width.
Otherwise, you’ll end up regretting it later. Of course, no one can tell you for sure whether you’ll have enough yarn (that also depends on the pattern, etc.). Maybe you can find a similar jacket here on CP and use that as a guide for how much yarn you’ll need in your size.
