Where did this owl craze come from?

Is it known where this owl craze comes from? Why are there so many owls everywhere?

The owl craze has been around for years, but it’s only recently reached Crazypatterns :-) We can only guess how it started . . .

I suspect that, when it comes to crocheting, knitting, and crafts, it might be because these animals are fairly easy to depict. The possibilities for giving them a unique look are huge....

I’ve been reading along in the forum for days, but until now I couldn’t decide on a nickname. Now I have one and I’m very happy with it.



 

Owls have always been popular collectibles. Whether made of glass, stone, or ceramic...
As a child, I had about 300 owls; since my nickname was “Owl,” I’d often get another one as a gift... And so they accumulated in all sizes, colors, and shapes. Today, they’ve become a little softer ;) and a little more colorful.

Good question... why owls?

It’s just a trend. I have some owl-themed stuff here at home, too. A big owl piggy bank, owl pillows... and there’s a stone owl in my office.

I’ve always liked owls, and I’m happy that I can buy owl-themed things now. ^^
