Crazypatterns’ headquarters in Latvia—is that a problem for you?

Dear users,

We are often asked about the fact that our company headquarters are in Latvia. Would you please be so kind as to write all questions you have about this topic here in this thread, so that we can answer them as well as possible and address any concerns you may have?

After all, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible here. And that also includes being open and transparent with our users.

Best regards
Crazypatterns Team

Hi
What I’d be interested in knowing in this context is: How did a company based in Latvia end up launching a German website? Is there more interest in crafts in Germany than elsewhere?

For me, the whole thing isn’t a problem, and to be honest, I’ve never really given it much thought. I just happened to see on the “About Us” page where the company is based, and that was that.
I buy a pattern every now and then. It’s always worked out great so far. Even with the prepaid account and everything—I put 10 euros on it at first, used it up, and then topped it up again; there was never any hassle about it. I still have some money left on my prepaid account, so I can go shopping again once I find something nice.
(Once you’ve fallen in love with a design or a crochet project, you want it right away—you don’t want to wait forever for your skills to improve. That’s why I now have a whole bunch of patterns lying around that I can work through over the winter—it’s going to be great. Once I get used to reading crochet charts and all that.)
But I only topped up with 10 euros. That’ll last me a while, since I only buy a pattern every now and then, not every day.
I wouldn’t put 1,000 euros on my prepaid account right now, for example. Not so much because I wouldn’t trust the platform, but because it would take me years to buy all those patterns and then actually work through them. For me, 10 euros every now and then is more than enough. I don’t need more than that—at least not so far.

And if I ever have a technical problem, I post it in the “Info and Help” section, and so far, a solution has always been found. I’ve never had to contact technical support via the contact form, email, or anything like that.

Of course, I don’t know what the situation is like for sellers of patterns. But I mean, surely you as a company have already thought about how to make this work smoothly?

Anyway, I like it here. You can probably tell that from my posts in the forum.
What do the other users think?

For me as a buyer, this isn’t an issue. The 30-euro top-up worked well and quickly. Everything else works just fine, too.
It would be really interesting to hear the opinions of sellers.

Everything I would have said about this has already been said by muetzekatze and clara.
Just keep going like this, please.
If possible, I’d like a few patterns for this section.
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/herren-haekelanleitungen
That’s men’s crochet.
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/herren-strickanleitungen
And that would be men’s knitting.

Men need things for winter. That means I need suitable patterns, please.

This unusual scarf isn’t really in the right place in the men’s knitting section.
The person in the photo looks more like a girl.

There really isn’t much for men
Personally, I’d like a few patterns for sweaters, if that would be doable?
So, not just for men, but also for women or children.
Crochet preferred. But most people will probably prefer to knit sweaters. Both categories are still pretty empty so far.
But it’s the right season for it anyway.
There are plenty of scarf and loop scarf patterns, but there could definitely be more sweaters, thick vests, etc.

@Hamster
The collar scarf actually looks good, but I find it a bit thick around the neck. It’s sure to keep you nice and warm, though.
At least it comes down really far. I really don’t like it when the wind can whistle through between my scarf and jacket.
Especially at the back of the neck. brrrr. Not nice, that.

But back to the topic and done with off-topic

I’d also like to read opinions from sellers, too (more of them).
The buyer side seems to be very much in agreement (so far).
But if the buyers here are satisfied, it can’t be that bad for the sellers either, right?
At least I hope so.

I’m not a seller. I hadn’t noticed the company’s headquarters at all until now. I can’t remember ever noticing it. But it’s not important to me, either.

Hi,

I’ve recently started selling here. I don’t see the fact that the company is based in Latvia as a problem. What’s important is that everything runs smoothly when it comes to software, sales processing, and customer service. Everything here is very clear for both sides, and listing products is also easy to handle.
I’ve been working with foreign companies for years and am satisfied with that.

What I find a bit of a shame is that only top products are shown on the homepage. A newcomer has to work their way there first. I know from experience that new arrivals are featured, but that’s the platform owner’s decision and isn’t really relevant to this topic. Sorry :)

I do find the question from the beginning interesting, though—why a German platform was chosen.

Creative regards, Nicole from Nks-Design
