Crochet a turtle and win

Crochet an amigurumi turtle / flower turtle and win store credit!

This is your chance to join in, have fun, upload photos, compete with the other talented crocheters, and win a symbolic store credit amount of €3. Make something pretty from it; we’re looking forward to it. Anyone who has an account on Crazypatterns may take part.

How to take part:

Step 1 – Buy the pattern

It costs €2.99, or only €2.39 with a prepaid account. The amount is well invested—especially for everyone who enjoys crocheting animals and amigurumi. Anyone who bought the pattern before the promotion can of course take part too.

Step 2 – Make the pattern

When using Schachenmayr Bravo and a 2.5 mm hook, the little flower turtle measures about 14–16 cm from head to tail. Basic crochet skills should be present. The following are used: single crochet, magic ring (explained in the pattern), half double crochet, double crochet.

Each little turtle gets a unique look through your individual choice of yarn, colors, and decoration.

If questions come up while making it or you need help, you can reach Petra via the pattern’s comment field or ask here in the crochet forum.

Step 3 - Upload photos

It’s best to take the photos in daylight or in a well-lit place (avoid direct sunlight if possible). The little animals should be photographed against a light-colored surface / background. You can upload the photos here.

Step 4 – Store credit back as a reward for the 5 most beautiful photos

Please be sure to remember: photos for the promotion can be submitted up to and including July 6, 2014. The 5 best entries can win store credit of €3. You can use it to buy and make the next tempting pattern on Crazypatterns right away.

As with previous promotions, we hope for many participating users and look forward to pictures of pretty turtles. The 5 most beautiful photos (and therefore the winners) will be chosen by user voting. We’re excited to see your creative versions.

Congratulations to the winners, but maybe next time they should limit it to one prize per user. Submitting multiple photos increases your chances of winning, but during judging, only the photo with the most clicks per user is counted. I think that would be fair to those who don’t have the time to submit multiple entries. Don’t get me wrong—I’m happy for everyone who wins; I didn’t even participate myself (so I’m not jealous or anything)—it’s just my opinion.
