Christmas stress—what do you do to relax when you need a moment to yourself?

By the fourth Sunday of Advent at the latest, it should be clear that Christmas isn’t far off. Personally, I’ve been avoiding going shopping on Advent Saturdays for years. I also cherish every quiet moment during Advent. What do you do when you need a break in between? When the stress gets too much? I’m guessing you turn to your current craft project?

I avoid the Christmas hustle and bustle, too. I’m in the fortunate position of not having to rely on the weekend to get my shopping done.
So, for the most part, the “Christmas stress” passes me by, and I can look forward to the holiday in peace—and knit my cowl, which is supposed to be finished by Christmas Eve. ;-)

When I need a little break, I unwrap one of the chocolate Santas and simply eat it. Especially at Christmas, you don’t necessarily have to watch your calories so closely—it’s okay to indulge a little more.

Yeah, that’s right. You can slim down again afterward, but at Christmas I don’t really care… there are way too many delicious treats. ;-)

I relax by baking cookies and cakes. In the heat of the moment, I ended up baking way too much again. Since I can’t eat it all by myself, my parents and friends are always happy when I show up at their door with a few bags.
After that, I continue to relax by crocheting and then treat myself to a few cookies (calories be damned).

A nice, warm cup of tea is always a good idea when you need a few minutes to catch your breath.
