Simple and straightforward, yet eye-catching, are Luna’s WaveSocks.
You knit "toe-up," starting at the tip. The entire foot remains in stockinette stitch, so nothing will bother you inside your shoes. After knitting the heel, the playful lace pattern begins on the leg. The pattern is particularly emphasized by alternating different colours.

This pattern is for advanced beginners. You will work the lace pattern according to a chart.

Yarn:
50 (50, 60, 70, 70) g sockyarn (fingering weight, 4 ply, approx. 400 m / 440 yd = 100g) in main colour, 20 g sockyarn (or fingering weight yarn with a similar yardage) in a contrasting colour

Gauge:
34 stitches in stockinette stitch measure 10 cm / 4 in in width.

Other materials:

• 2.5 mm / US size 1.5 ( 3.0 mm / US size 2.5 for 42/43) circular knitting needle or the needle size required to achieve the specified gauge; possibly an additional set of double-pointed needles of the same size if you're not using the magic loop method
• 2 stitchmarker
• Tapestry needle to weave in the loose ends
