34 stitches in stockinette stitch measure 10 cm / 4 in in width.
Other materials:
2.5 mm / US size 1.5 ( 3.0 mm / US size 2.5 for 42/43) circular knitting needle or the needle size required to achieve the specified gauge; possibly an additional set of double-pointed needles of the same size if you're not using the magic loop method
