The example in the picture is 10 x 104 cm (approximately 4 x 41 inches) in size. You can basically use any yarn with the corresponding needle size, just keep in mind that the dimensions of the scarf will then change.
50 g of sport-weight cotton yarn, e.g.:
o "Nova Eko" by Järbo Garn (170 m = 50 g) or
o "Organic Cotton" by Krea Deluxe (165 m = 50 g) or
o "Summer in Kashmir" by BC Garn (165 m = 50 g)
