The fluffy Thea Scarf is knit from tip to tip. The increases and decreases are integrated into the pattern on both sides and give the Scarf a harmonious overall look. Due to the yarn choice with double-stranded mohair yarn, it is like an airy cloud that drapes wonderfully.
The "Smocking Stitch" pattern is not complicated, and thanks to the short repeat, you'll quickly memorize it. While knitting, the striking brioche edge is knit right along. It's quick and easy and creates a wonderful, refined look.
The idea of the design is to use approx. 50g of yarn.
For adjustments to the size, correspondingly more or less yarn is needed. In principle, any yarn weight can be used, although this naturally affects the consumption and measurements of the finished knitted piece.
Gauge is not that important for the Scarf. But feel free to knit a swatch following the instructions and decide whether you like the stitch definition. You may then adjust the needle size.
A video tutorial is also available for this pattern.
The pattern has been thoroughly tested and is also suitable for ambitious beginners.
Gauge (Smocking Stitch):
Point of the Scarf (after row 26): 28 st(s) = 8cm
Measurements:
Length x Width: 110cm x 14cm
Materials:
Yarn: 50g Kid Cotton by KREMKE (yardage 25g / 210m)
Needle size: 4.00mm
Tapestry needle, scissors, 4 markers, optionally a scale to determine yarn consumption
Tip: Knitting the Smocking Stitch pattern is easier with pointed lace needles.
My tip: Addi Mystic Lace
