Crafts with Kids

Tell me, do kids these days still learn traditional crafts like sewing, knitting, and crocheting in school? It’s been ages since I learned those things, and I don’t have kids of my own.

How do you handle this with your kids? Do you teach them any crafts, or are they not interested in that kind of thing at all?

My oldest (5.5 years old) is totally interested in everything I’m doing. We’ve tried crocheting—using a thick hook—but it’s not working yet; her fine motor skills aren’t quite there yet. She really enjoys sewing little things out of felt; after I made a keychain, for example, she made a couple of her own too )))

Of course I made these things, but my daughter was so excited that she’s repeated them several times now.
And for a 5-year-old, it’s going really well, I think. Of course, she gets all the felt scraps now )))
