Downloads aren't working on my smartphone

Is it because of my S4 mini that I can't download anything? I registered and confirmed my email. When I click "Download," the download page opens, but nothing actually downloads. Can anyone help me with this? Can I only download to my PC?

Could it be that you don’t have a PDF reader app? Most of the patterns here are PDF files, which should work on all devices if you have the right program. If you don’t have the right program, it might look like the download isn’t working.

But I’ve been able to open all PDF files so far. I’ve never had any problems. The download bar appears, but nothing downloads. I guess I’ll have to download it on my PC.

Some of the patterns are zipped = inside a ZIP archive. You first need to unzip it with a suitable program before you can open the PDF file.
If you don’t have a ZIP program on your smartphone, you can choose the download option "Browse"
That should let you access the PDF directly on your smartphone, too.
