Isn’t wool too warm for babies in the summer?

First off,
I don’t have kids, so I’m not really familiar with this topic.
I just always wonder if woolen clothes for kids aren’t too warm in the summer?
Or is cotton comfortable for a baby to wear?
Do babies actually get cold very quickly? I really have no idea about this topic.

Cotton is breathable and lets moisture escape,
so I don’t think it gets
too hot underneath. I believe that very young babies, in particular, haven’t quite figured out how to regulate their own body temperature yet, so they actually need to be wrapped up a bit more.
But a thick winter blanket over the stroller might be a bit over the top. You don’t want the baby to get
heatstroke, but there are also thin, lightweight sewn summer blankets

. Plus, it always depends on the technique you use when crocheting or knitting.
Double crochet and treble crochet stitches let more air through than single crochet stitches. If you only use single crochet stitches, the finished piece tends to be stiff and inflexible
; and if the crochet or knitting is worked loosely with large stitches, it won’t get excessively hot

underneath. Baby clothing isn’t really my specialty
though, but I’m sure other moms and people who know more about it will reply here in the thread.

I was just browsing through some older posts here on the forum and found this old thread again.
The topic is actually more interesting the other way around right now—what’s warm enough to keep
babies warm, or even more urgently (since I don’t have kids), to keep me warm. I’m actually feeling a bit chilly right now.
But we might as well discuss the topic anyway and think about warm summer days or something like that.
