Good morning from Hamburg,
Could someone please explain this pattern to me:
"from the cast-on edge, increase 1 stitch in pattern on both sides 120 times, alternating in every and every 2nd row ; to do this, double the 1st and last stitch of the row each time"
“Every” row automatically includes the second row, doesn’t it? Where am I making a mistake in my thinking?
Regards
Hello,
There’s also the word “alternately.” You need to take that into account, because it’s very important here. So you increase as follows:
1st row: Increase. But the next increase isn’t until the 2nd row
after that, so:
3rd row: Increase. The next increase is in the next row
after that, so:
4th row: Increase. The next increase isn’t until the 2nd row
after that, so:
6th row: Increase. The next increase is in the next row
after that, so:
7th row: Increase.
And so on. So you increase twice every three rows. Does that make sense to you?
Best regards from Krümelmonster
