Schachenmayr Bravo

Hi, good morning!

I’m currently working on the “Nautik” patchwork blanket by Lenzula. The pattern is incredibly well-written, and the pictures really show off the illusion knitting technique beautifully.
I also bought the pattern extension, but unfortunately I didn’t know that Schachenmayr/Mez had gone bankrupt—and, most importantly, that color 08224/white is impossible to find anywhere. Now I’m running out of yarn for the last—and largest—patch, and before I try a substitute yarn, I’m making one last attempt to get two more skeins of the original yarn.

So here’s my request/question: Does anyone have two skeins of Bravo color 08224 that I could buy?

Hi Birgit, have you tried looking on Ravelry? 

There’s plenty of Bravo in your color there. Maybe someone would be willing to let you have 2 skeins. I played around with the filters—Bravo, 8224, and Germany—and found some.

I had no idea that Schachenmayr had gone bankrupt. It’s unbelievable how many traditional brands are disappearing from the market. In the end, there’ll only be yarn from China left...

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll still be able to find your two white balls of Bravo. But I’m pretty confident, since the company’s closure is still so recent. There are surely still some leftover skeins in people’s homes—you just have to find them.

It seems Schachenmayr has a solution, so the yarns are available again....

I read somewhere that the bankruptcy just means that not all yarns and colors are available and that there are delivery delays.

Thank you so much for your efforts. Since I’ve only received rejections online, I’ll use Star as a substitute. The blanket is meant to be a gift and needs to be finished by the end of March.
