Cuddly toys are always a hit! And when they’re crocheted by hand, they’re something truly special and are sure to be a friend and companion for a long time to come.

For the littlest ones:
Mauzi the cuddly cat. Mauzi is super soft: the head, paws, and tail are crocheted from fine chenille yarn. For the body, I combined plush yarn with cotton yarn. This makes crocheting easier and gives it a very special feel. The body isn’t stuffed: this way, the baby can grip it better, just like a comfort blanket.

And here’s another
kitten, this time made entirely of fluffy yarn for slightly older children. To make the stitches easier to see while crocheting, work the plush yarn together with a matching companion thread. This also gives the cuddly toy additional shape retention. If you don’t like crocheting with plush yarn, you can also use regular acrylic yarn. If you want it to be fluffy, give the cuddly toy a thorough brushing with a pet brush once it’s finished. This creates a fine, soft fuzz.

And here’s another cute
sleeping lamb, made from plush yarn just like the kitten above. I’ve built a music box into it. You can choose a suitable melody. This makes it an indispensable bedtime companion for your child. Maybe this would make a great Easter gift?
