Dear readers, dear authors,
I’d love to know what kind of Easter decorations you like best.

Many years ago, I decorated plastic eggs, and when Belvetro (reverse glass painting) was still popular, I did a lot with it. I still have those decorations today and hang them up regularly. I also have some pretty wooden Easter decorations—they’re quite old, too.
If I get around to it this year, I’d like to crochet a few things, like eggs or chicks.
Of course, I love bunnies and eggs :-D They’re the Easter classics.
Then I usually have a bouquet of palm branches where I hang Easter eggs.
I also have picture rails in my living room where you can quickly swap out the pictures. I always like to decorate them seasonally with postcards.
I do crafts with my kids. Our window decorations are made of construction paper. We blow out eggs, paint them, and hang them on branches inside the house and in the garden. We dye eggs and place them in Easter baskets scattered all over the place. We really let our imaginations run wild. Of course, tablecloths are a must :)
Best regards, M. Puschinski
I had no idea there was a specific name for reverse glass painting.
So I’d never heard of “Belvetro,” and to be honest, I never really understood the principle of reverse glass painting either — I mean, what exactly is behind the glass?

@Wollness-Oase, did you do that too, with mirror-reversed and opaque paints and everything?
I always found it a bit unusual that the Easter bunny is supposed to be a symbol of fertility and then brings eggs.
I mean, rabbits breed like rabbits, so to speak, and multiply incredibly fast, but the fact that they bring eggs is a bit odd. Although eggs are also a symbol of fertility, and on top of that a little self-contained world.
There used to be a special meaning behind that, but I’ve forgotten it — yeah, age ;)
@Puschis-Häkelparadies
that sounds lovely, what you do there. :)
We dye eggs with the kids—or rather, I dye them first, and after they’ve cooled, the kids paint them some more or decorate them with stickers. The eggs then go into a big Easter basket that sits on the table.
They also always bring home beautiful crafts from school and preschool. Of course, those get hung up or placed on display.
At home, we also do crafts—felting, gluing, and so on. I still have all of those things, and by now I have to pick and choose what to use for decorations, since it would be too much otherwise. :)
We’ll see what we end up doing this year—I haven’t really decided yet.
