Cloche Sun Hat in 3 sizes, S, M, L

The cloche crochet hat instructions come in three sizes; Small, medium, and large.

The whole piece is worked in a spiral, in the round in single crochet with RS facing throughout. It is therefore not joined with a slst at the end of each round. The bow is also worked with the brim of the hat as a continued one piece with cap.

Although I have given instructions on how to stiffen the brim edge, this is not essential. You will find this round-by-round pattern instruction is easy and relaxing to recreate.

Raffia has not been used as I prefer something softer on my head, but nothing stops you from using raffia as a substitute, as long as you watch your gauge. The front decoration is optional and you can put anything or nothing at all.

Advanced novice could find it easy to follow

Small - 50-56 cm (20-22 ins) heads
Medium – 53 – 56 cm (21-22 ins) heads
Large – 57-60 (22.5-23.5 ins) heads

Yarn: Lion Brand Rewind a ribbon yarn (Raffia can be used but is more “rough” to the touch )
Weight: 5/Bulky 2 skeins [approx. 165 g]

Chunky, or any suitable yarn to match gauge  s = 2 Balls, M= 2 Balls, L = 3 Balls

• Crochet Hook : 5.5mm (US: I) or Size to obtain gauge
• Yarn Needle & scissors or
• 1 large button or whatever you want for decoration

• Stich markers or safety pins
