Hat STRAWBERRY CAKE, knitting pattern in 2 sizes

Yummy: Finally there is a strawberry hat for the grown ups! Seasoned knitters will love the pattern in stranded knitting and the toasty warm double layered brim. Once finished, the cheerful hat will bring a sweet tinge to even the dullest of winter days.

Skill level: advanced
You are familiar with stranded knitting in the round and weaving in long strands – there is no tutorial included!
You will work mainly with charts and pattern repeats.

Size S fits a head circumference of approx 49 to 53 cm / 19.3 to 20.8 inches. This size fits youths and women with rather small heads.

Size M fits a head circumference of approx 52 to 56 cm / 20.5 to 22 inches. This size fits women.

Gauge
Work your swatch in stranded knitting and block.
25–26 stitches x 34–35 rows = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4 inches

You might alter the sizes by using a gauge not as tight. Seasoned knitters will have no difficulties in knitting one pattern repeat more, but you would have to adapt the crown on your own.

Hand dyed wool from BUNTE WOLLE Merino 300 or Feine Wolle 300
(both 100 % merino wool, 300 m/100 g)
Overall weight of hat size M approx. 90 g

• Green: 40 g
• Red: 25 g
• Yellow: 15 g
• White: 15 g
• Light green: 15 g
• Brown: 5 g
• Very small amount in dark green for the leaves
