The entire potholder owl family, ‘Eugen’, ‘Eugenia’, ‘Trine’ and ‘Klausi’, is now available as an economy set. Individually or as a set, they make a great gift as they bring protection, luck and prosperity to the recipient. They also symbolize intelligence, wisdom and cleverness. Or why not knit a beautiful set for your own kitchen?
The potholders are knitted using the tapestry crochet technique. This means that they are beautiful on both sides. The instructions contain a counting pattern and the stitch sequence is written out row by row. This means that even beginners with good basic knowledge can try their hand at knitting these beautiful potholders.
You can find the individual instructions for the potholders in my owl collection: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/users/view_collection/3244/eulen-eulen-eulen
You will also find more owl instructions there. Just have a look.
Required knowledge:
• Chain stitches
• Single crochet stitches
• Slip stitches
• Slip stitches
Everything else is explained in the instructions.
What you get:
You get four 10-page instructions with a counting pattern and a row-by-row description of the crocheting. These instructions explain the tapestry technique only to the extent necessary to crochet the pot holder.
Difficulty level:
Suitable for ambitious beginners.
Crocheted using tapestry technique: 28 stitches = 10 cm wide. 29 rows = 10 cm high.
With this gauge, the pot holders will measure approx. 20 cm x approx. 21 cm.
• Katia Capri, 100% cotton, 50g = approx. 125m.
50g of your chosen colors for each pot holder (2 colors per pot holder). I used between 35g and 41g per pot holder for the main color (ecru) and between 19g and 21g per pot holder for the motif color. However, the amount required may vary slightly depending on your personal crocheting style. You can also use another cotton yarn with a similar yardage.
• Crochet hook no. 2
• Sewing needle
• Scissors
