Potholder Owl Klausi – Double Knitting Instructions

Klausi is probably the cutest owl in my owl collection. He looks really good on this potholder and makes a great gift for a loved one or for your own kitchen. Perhaps you would even like to knit a potholder set? You can find matching potholders in my store at: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/users/view_collection/3244/eulen-eulen-eulen. There you will also find an economy set with four matching potholders.

The potholder is double knitted and is therefore beautiful on both sides. As the stitch sequence is written out in full in the instructions and the instructions also contain a counting pattern, it is easy to knit. I wish you lots of fun knitting it.

You can find a free tutorial on the double knitting technique in my store at: https://www.crazypatterns.net/en/items/97086/double-face-knitting-a-tutorial.

Klausi the owl is also available as a washcloth knitted with knit and purl stitches only. You can find the instructions in my store under:

Level of difficulty:
Simple
If you can follow the exercises from my free basic tutorial Double Face Knitting (https://www.crazypatterns.net/en/items/97086/double-face-knitting-a-tutorial), you can try your hand at this potholder.

Knitted in double face: 26 stitches = 10 cm wide. 36 rows = 10 cm high.
With this gauge, the potholder measures approx. 21.5 cm x approx. 21.5 cm.

• Katia Capri, 100% cotton, 50g = approx. 125m.
• 50g in light blue and 50g in petrol (or in your desired colors). I used a total of 28g per color. However, the amount needed may vary a little depending on your personal knitting style. You can also use a different cotton with a similar yardage.
• Knitting needles no. 2
• Crochet hook no. 3
• Sewing needle
• Scissors
