Sort patterns by difficulty level

Hello again
While browsing through the patterns in the various categories, I noticed that while you can sort the patterns by different criteria, such as price and popularity, you can’t sort them by difficulty level.
More experienced crafters or professionals probably won’t find this to be a big deal, but it would make it easier for beginners in particular to choose if they could view simpler patterns in the overview with just a click of the mouse.

Would that be possible? If I’m the only one who feels this way, I understand, of course, if this request isn’t implemented. There’s no need to go to the technical trouble just for me. But maybe other users would appreciate it too?

Thanks
Buttercup

Hi Buttercup,

.. I actually think that’s really good, a great idea.

Best regards,
Monika

Hello,
How many options would you like to see? 1 to 5 or 1 to 3 (e.g., Easy, Medium, Hard).
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Best regards, Operator

hello Operator
actually, I meant to say that easy-medium-hard should really be enough.

but on the other hand
maybe a system like that would also be a good thing, and could help expand the selection in a meaningful way and offer more for each of the relevant target groups.
- for beginners with no prior knowledge
- for beginners with prior knowledge
- for experienced crafters
- for experienced crafters with lots of experience
- for pros

so far, the patterns have been more about _what_ was made, e.g. baby shoes, etc.
but focusing on the target group—beginners, experienced crafters, pros, etc.—there would still be a lot of potential that could be used
this kind of breakdown could really bring a lot of momentum
That could benefit both sellers and buyers.

how much work would it be to program different difficulty levels?
and who decides how difficult the pattern in question is?

I agree with Muetzekatze—this way, everyone would find things that are within their abilities more quickly. How difficult a pattern is is usually indicated by the pattern designer themself. But here, you could also ask your test sewers, embroiderers, crocheters, etc., which category they think it should be placed in.

Hello everyone!
My idea of a perfect classification is

Beginner                                               between beginner and expert                                       Expert
- no prior knowledge required                                          - Difficulty level I                                           - Difficulty level III
- with prior knowledge                                             - Difficulty level II
