Creative Ways to Use Sock Yarn

The arm and leg warmers are knitted with the same yarn and pattern, so they go together perfectly. The pattern looks like a cable with a lace pattern, but no stitches need to be crossed. Just under 200 g of sock yarn is enough for both.

Leftover sock yarn is perfect for making doll clothes. Here are 2 examples for fashion dolls about 29 cm tall:


For these sideways-knit little jackets, I used black sock yarn and colorful leftovers. A little weaving in of ends is required if you use lots of different colors. You can reduce this significantly by using gradient yarn. For the jacket on the far right, I also knitted with black glitter yarn alongside the black yarn. This gives it a very elegant look.



This outfit for fashion dolls, consisting of a vest, beanie and leg warmers, is also very easy to knit with leftover sock yarn. It turns out especially pretty with gradient yarn. The pieces are very easy to make and beginner-friendly.

My “Fargerik” shawl is knitted from 5 x 20g skeins or any amount of leftover yarn; it’s framed with 1 x 100g of the main color, though even that can be knitted in a variety of colors.
