Granny squares, dishcloths and washcloths: make a quick project now

Dear community,
Now’s the time to make some lovely granny squares, dishcloths and washcloths. They’re quick to make and perfect as a little project in between. Have fun with them.

Around Easter, I like to give away dishcloths featuring one of my Easter motifs. Colorful, just like spring presents itself to us, I knit my pattern in knit and purl stitches to match a dish towel.

My pattern includes written row-by-row instructions specifying which stitches to work, and I’ve also included a stitch chart.

Using sponge yarn (e.g., Creative Bubble by Rico), you can crochet colorful and practical dish sponges that can be easily washed in the washing machine and are therefore very sustainable.


The “Chick” dish sponge is, of course, especially perfect for spring and Easter. You’ll need about 25 g of yellow sponge yarn and scraps of red, white, and black yarn.



The “Lucky Clover” dish sponge is a bright green eye-catcher and a constant good-luck charm in your kitchen. Nothing can go wrong while you’re cooking!



The Fish dish sponge also works great in the bathroom as a bath and shower sponge.

Add color to your home and knit yourself brightly colored dishcloths or washcloths.
With bulky yarn, they also make potholders.

Using my small owl collection as an example, you can see that dishcloths don’t have to be boring.
