My grandchildren and their friends love to play cards. And since little children’s hands have a hard time holding all those cards, I sewed something for them.

Each player gets a playing card holder. You insert all the cards you’ve picked up into the card holder. The cards are held securely and reliably in place. You can sort, rearrange, and lay out the cards with ease. When laying out the cards, you simply pull out the ones you want—all the others stay safely in place.



You’re guaranteed to already have everything you need to make a card holder at home: old CDs, fabric scraps, and buttons. You can certainly make a few more, so you’ll always have little gifts for anyone who enjoys playing cards. I also think they’re perfect as party favors at children’s birthday parties.



With this ingenious tool, we can all focus on the card game again instead of juggling all those cards. It’s a perfect gift for young and old alike, costing nothing but a little bit of handiwork. We don’t need a sewing machine.

Small bags for children—for example, for the upcoming Easter holiday or a trip to the ice cream parlor—or gift bags are always useful. My bags are the ideal size, stand stably, require only a little fabric, are versatile, and are a lot of fun to sew.

You can vary the length of the handles and button them to the outside or inside of the bag. If you button on just one handle diagonally, you have a little basket:



My favorite is this one: It is sewn from table protector vinyl. The special thing about it, of course, is that it is transparent. It lets you give elegant gifts in a particularly stylish way.
