This washcloth or potholder is a perfect gift for everybody who loves New Zealand – no matter if they are lucky enough to live there, or if they spent a wonderful time in this beautiful country, or if they are still dreaming of visiting

This cloth is knitted in the Double Knitting Technique. Thus, it looks beautiful on both sides.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

  • double knitting in general
  • invisible cast on / bind off (you will find the links to a helpful video tutorial in the pattern)
  • basic skills in crocheting (chain stitch, sling stitch, single crochet, reverse single crochet) for the border and handle

You will get two separate pdf documents:

Size Information

23 stitches x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4“ x 4“) with Schachenmayr Catania; size of the potholder will be approx. 22 x 22 cm
24 stitches x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4“ x 4“) with Rainbow 8/4 Deluxe; size of the washcloth will be approx. 21 x 21 cm
Please note: If you have a different gauge, the size of the finished product will be different, too!

Materials List

  • For potholders: cotton with 125 m / 50gr (e.g. Schachenmayr Catania), approx. 50-60 gr each in black and white for a pair of potholders; approx. 10 gr for the border and handle
  • For a washcloth: cotton with 170 m / 50 gr (e.g. Hobbii Rainbow 8/4 Deluxe), approx. 20-25 gr each in black and white; approx. 5 gr for the border and handle
  • Circular needle 2.5 mm (US 1 ½) and an additional circular needle (2.5 mm or 3 mm); or two circular needles appropriate for the yarn you use
  • Crochet hook 3 mm
  • Darning needle

Ich bin begeistert von der Anleitung! Nachdem ich mich durch den Anschlags-Marathon gekämpft habe, macht das Stricken richtig Spaß. Ich freue mich sehr auf das Ergebnis - könnte noch etwas dauern…..

perfekte Beschreibung
Dieses wunderschöne Tuch ist recht groß und aufwendig, aber es lohnt sich. Besonders gefallen haben mir die Angaben, wie man ein kurzes, mittleres und langes Tuch arbeiten kann. Die Angaben zum jeweiligen Verbrauch passen exakt! Vielen Dank dafür!

Super Übung
Da ich bisher eher gehäkelt und noch nicht so viel gestrickt habe, habe ich diese Anleitung genutzt, um zu schauen, ob ich mit den zwei Fäden beim Doubleface zurecht komme und es ging super. Sehr schön erklärt, vielen Dank
