IMPORTANT: You are buying a PDF pattern, NOT the finished item.
This pattern is bilingual: English AND German, both PDFs in one file.
Four little snowmen that are placed over an LED tea light. The bodies stay open at the bottom – with the tea light underneath, the whole belly glows from the inside. Each one gets eyes and a mouth made from black half pearls and a nose embroidered in orange.
Head and body are the same for all four. They only differ in the trim:
• Snowman 1: a black top hat and three buttons on the belly, arms embroidered in brown
• Snowman 2: a top hat with a green leaf and three little pearls, plus a scarf worked in rows
• Snowman 3: red ear muffs with a blue headband and a red heart on the belly
• Snowman 4: a blue and yellow hat with a reverse-single-crochet edge and a blue star
The pattern is written round by round, with the stitch count in brackets and 26 photos taken while making them – every step is shown.
If you run into any trouble, or if an error has slipped in somewhere, please send me a message before leaving a review – we will sort it out together.
Stitches used: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, magic ring, increases, decreases and reverse single crochet (for the edge of the hat).
The pattern is written step by step: every round on its own line, with the stitch count in brackets so you can check as you go, plus 26 photos taken while making them.
Skill level: intermediate. If you can work a magic ring, increases and decreases, you will get through – the reverse single crochet is explained in the text.
Made with Schachenmayr Catania, yarn of weight 2–2.5 and a 3 mm hook.
Gauge: 24 stitches × 26 rows = 10 × 10 cm.
The snowmen are worked to fit LED tea lights of approx. 3.5 cm in diameter.
The quantities are for all four snowmen together:
• approx. 50 g yarn in natural, weight 2–2.5
• approx. 25 g yarn in black, weight 2–2.5
• scraps in yellow, blue, orange, brown, red, green and lilac, weight 2–2.5
• 8 half pearls 6 mm in black
