The pattern comes in English and in German – both languages are included in the download.
Crochet pattern for a nursery mobile with six sea animals – whale, crab, squid, turtle, seahorse and a yellow fish, each between 10 and 15 cm / 4 to 6 inches tall. Instant download PDF in English and German.
Six animals that are all built differently – this is not one figure in six colours, but six little patterns in one booklet. Felt algae hang in between them. Everything is attached to a wrapped embroidery hoop; how to wrap it, braid the cord and balance the whole mobile is explained step by step at the end of the pattern.
And you are not tied to the mobile: every animal also works as a single figure on a wooden pick – standing on a piece of driftwood in the bathroom, for example, or simply as a small toy on its own.

You should be familiar with these stitches: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, half double crochet, double crochet, magic circle as well as increasing and decreasing.
Every round is listed separately with its stitch count, and there are photos for the single steps. There is also some sewing and gluing: sewing on the eyes, gluing on the half beads and gluing the felt algae together.
The single animals will become between 10 and 15 cm / 4 to 6 inches tall.
Gauge: 24 stitches x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches (Schachenmayr Catania).
For the mobile: an embroidery hoop of about 20 cm / 8 inches diameter.
Crochet hook no. 2.5 mm (C), darning needle, scissors, glue, a few pins
Schachenmayr Catania:
• whale: 50 g turquoise (397), leftovers in white, black and jeans (164)
• crab: 50 g strawberry (258), leftovers in white and coral (410)
• squid: 50 g bourdeaux (394), leftovers in white, black and lavender (422)
• turtle: leftovers in greenery (418), christmas tree (419), may green (389), black and white
• seahorse: 50 g mint (385), leftovers in denim (421) and jade (253)
• yellow fish: leftovers in vanilla (403), sun (208) and white
Also: 16 black half beads of about 1.2 cm / 0.5 inches diameter, some light and dark green felt for the algae, toothpicks and wooden picks; for the mobile an embroidery hoop of about 20 cm / 8 inches diameter.
You may sell the finished crocheted figures as long as you credit me as the designer of the pattern (Masche für Masche). The pattern itself is for private use only and may not be shared, sold or swapped, not even in a translated version.
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
