Skills Required / What You'll Receive

The pattern is written for knitters with a bit of experience. Nevertheless, if you are a beginner who wants to learn more, these small projects might be perfect to add to your skills.
Please be aware that the wardrobe is mainly knitted in the round using a set of double pointed needles.

The pattern is written out round by round, and includes a lot of pictures where necessary. Additionally, you will find a useful appendix with all used knitting techiques that go beyond the very basic skills.

Size Information

You can use any yarn you like (e.g. sock yarn). Depending on the yarn weight, the dolls will be taller or shorter. With the mentioned gauge they have a height of approx. 40 cm. Knit as tight as possible, so the stuffing will not show. A good gauge for the yarn mentioned below would be

27 stitches x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4 inches

Good to know: Anni and Olivia are knitted according to the same instructions and with the same yarn. However, Olivia is actually a little bigger - I knitted her a few months later and obviously a little looser, which affected the size.

In order for the dresses to fit the dolls Anni and Olivia, they must be knitted with the same yarn (or a yarn that has a similar gauge) that is used for the doll bodies.

Materials List

Doll's bodies

  • Original yarn: Lana Grossa Cool Wool Merino Superfein (100 % Merino wool, 175 yards (160 m) per 1.76 ounces (50 g))
  • Body (for one doll): SKIN COLOUR approx 1,5 ball (75 g), KNICKERS approx 0,5 ball (25 g)
  • Olivia‘s hair: 1 ball of black tweed wool, not too thin. I have used yarn from my stock, which unfortunately is discontinued: Lana Grossa Royal Tweed. Alternative suggestions can be found below with the jacket. My tip: Browse through your wool stock first. For example, I could well imagine thicker mohair yarn or more rough wool (handspun?) - or a mixture of both!
  • Anni‘s hair: RUSSET approx 1 ball (50 g)
  • 2 glas eyes with metal loops, Ø 13 or 14 mm. I love the eyes from this shop:
  • Or safety eyes in brown/black, Ø 12 – 14 mm
  • Or beads or halfbeads, Ø 10 – 14 mm
  • Black twine
  • Strong felt approx 3 mm strong, 8 x 12 cm
  • Polyester stuffing
  • Circular needle and set of double pointed needles size 3 US (3 mm) and size 4 US (3.5 mm)
  • Crochet hook 3 mm
  • 4 stitch holders or big safety pins
  • Darning needle, embroidery needle, sciccors
  • Blusher or crayon for the cheeks

Summer dresses

  • Original yarn: Lana Grossa Cool Wool Merino Superfein (100 % Merino wool, 175 yards (160 m) per 1.76 ounces (50 g))
  • Yellow dress: YELLOW approx 0,5 skein (25 g) leftovers in WHITE, POWDER PINK, ORANGE, LIGHT BROWN, LIGHT BLUE
  • Blue dotted dress: BLUE (CYAN) approx 1 skein (50 g), leftovers in RED and BLUE
  • Mary Janes: ORANGE or RED approx 20 g, LIGHT PINK or BLUE (shoe sole) approx 5 g
  • 1 button to match the yellow dress
  • 2 buttons to match the blue dress
  • Circular needle and set of double pointed needles size 3 US (3 mm) and size 4 US (3.5 mm)
  • Crochet hook 3 mm
  • 2 stitch holders or big safety pins
  • Darning needle, embroidery needle, sciccors

I hope you enjoy knitting these cute little friends!

Also immer gerne wieder! :))

Mal was ganz anderes

I have paid for this pattern and when I downloaded it found that the instructions are not in English! There was no indication in the pattern ordering details that this pattern was in another language.

      Liebe Meckibo,
in Runde 46 hast du ja alle 3 Nadeln re gestr.
