Double Knitting Pattern Potholders "Kiwi Love"

New Zealand is such a beautiful country – unfortunately it’s at the opposite end of the world from us. With these potholders you can bring New Zealand’s symbols, the kiwi bird and the fern leaf, into your home. And dream of travelling around there… 😊

These potholders are knitted in the Double Knitting Technique. Thus, they look great on both sides.

  • double knitting in general
  • basic skills in crocheting (for the handle): chain stitch, sling stitch, single crochet

You will get three separate pdf documents:

  • general instructions on how to knit the potholders, including many pictures
  • two knitting charts for the motifs
    skills level: advanced

With a gauge 19 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4“ x 4“), size of the finished potholders is approx. 24 cm x 24 cm

Please note: If you have a different gauge, the size of the finished product will differ.

  • Lang Yarns Tissa (Running length 80 m / 50 gr) in Black and White, 2 skeins à 50 gr each colour
Alternatively you can use any other cotton yarn with similar running length
  • 3 mm (US 3) circular needle
  • 2.5 mm (US 2) circular needle
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook (for the handle)
  • darning needle
  • scissors

    Tolle Motive
