Paula and Paula - Knitting pattern set of matching hats

Paul and Paula: a set of matching hats. Each one is individual and yet they belong together.

The set includes two different patterns (two pdf-files), one for Paula and another one for Paul.

The Paula hat is a loose-fitting beanie, with a narrow, ribbed brim, designed to sit on the head comfortably without interfering with the hairstyle.

The Paul hat is also in beanie format, simply styled and easy to knit. The brim is wide enough to be folded over, if desired.

The patterns are easy to follow and to memorize, and are worked in slipped stitches, meaning only one color is worked at a time.

• S: 20 ½ inch (52 cm)
• M: 20 ¼ / 22 inch (54/56 cm)
• L: 22 ¾ / 23 ½ inch (58/60 cm)
• XL: 24 ½ / 25 ¼ inch (62/64 cm)

Yarn: Sample worked in: Smart by Sandnes Garn [100% Wool, 218 yards / 200m per 100g]

Alternatively, any yarn with similar properties, yardage and gauge can be used as a substitute.

Gauge: 22 stitches and 32 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stockinette with needle size 4 (US) / 3.5mm

• ca. 218 yards / 200m / 100g in Color A
• ca. 33 yards / 30m / 15g in Color B

For Paula Hat:

• ca. 109 yards / 100m / 50g in Color A
• ca. 55 yards / 50m / 25g in Color B

Additional materials:

• US size 4 / 3.5 mm double-pointed or circular needles, or size required to achieve gauge
• US size 2.5 / 3.0 mm double-pointed or circular needles for the brim
• 10 – 12 stitch markers
