Collection: *MixUp*

The explicitly different collection of mix-and-match sock patterns by Birgit Freyer

The collection *MixUp* is a jack of all trades for colorful socks and wristwarmers - 1000 and 1 variation of socks - and even more!

It starts with a detailed introduction to the world of *MixUp* - a merry mix of beautiful colours and fascinating patterns. The patterns include slipped stitches as well as twisted slipped stitches in the Matrix style. The variety of colours and patterns makes knitting these socks an exciting pastime.

In the next chapter, you'll find a whole batch of stitch patterns - grouped by the topics "cuff", "leg", and "instep". Mix and match them to your heart's content to create your very own individual socks.

Four specific, complete patterns for socks guide you through your first steps with the *MixUp* technique - and a wristwarmer shows you that the patterns can be used beyond sockknitting!

The collection is finished with several workshops and helpful hints about knitting in the *MixUp* style.

Please note that the single sock patterns don't contain instructions for the heel and the toe. Those are included in the workshop chapter, but you can also work the heel and toe you prefer.

The collection (a pdf file) contains 30 pages: an introduction to the *MixUp* technique, a chapter with stitch patterns, a chapter with detailed patterns and a chapter with several tutorials (workshops).

Each pattern contains a picture of the finished socks, charts and explanations.
The tutorials contain pictures and explanations.

The level of difficulty is 2-3 (of 5).

Required skills:

  • working from charts
  • knitting in the round
  • basic stitches: knit, purl, yarn over, increases and decreases
  • slipped stitches (explained in the pattern)
  • twisted stitches (explained in the pattern)

The sock patterns are written for size EU 39-40 / US 9 / UK 7, but can be adapted to other sizes as well.
The wristwarmers have a length of 15 cm (6 in) and a circumference of 16 cm (6.5 in), but can be adapted, too.

Yarn: 4ply / fingering / sockyarn, in 4 solid colours
Original Yarn: LANG YARNS - JAWOLL
Needle size: 2,0 - 2,5 mm (US 0 - 1,5)
Yardage: approx. 300 m (328 yds) for the socks, approx. 150 m (165 yds) for the wristwarmers

Notions: cable needle (optional), stitch markers (optional), scissors, tapestry needle

Have fun with your needlework!

Schade!

    Tolle idee
Was eine tolle Idee.
