Pattern Colorways 2 - Pullover

A versatile pattern for a seamless, multidirectional sweater (pullover), designed by Birgit Freyer.

This pattern shows you how to knit a stunning pullover (sweater) that can be worked in any individual size. It was originally designed for Filace Moira, the yarn with the wonderful colour changes. The original yarn can be substituted by any variegated yarn in a similar weight.

The garment is worked in several directions and looks really impressive - a true eyecatcher. It is worked in one piece and has no seams. Only two small gaps in the middle of the squares will have to be closed as a finish. The pattern describes how to work it in all individual sizes, so that you can also work it as a child’s sweater. The pattern contains charts.

Please note: This pattern contains detailed instructions about the construction and shaping, as well as charts for the ridges and eyelet rows. The distribution of the ridges and eyelet rows is up to your choice. On the last page of the pattern, you will find detailed examples.

The pattern (a pdf file) contains 9 pages, including a photo, schematic drawings, charts and detailed explanations about the construction and shaping of the garment.

The level of difficulty is 4-5 (of 5).

Required skills:

  • working from charts
  • reading schematic drawings
  • basic stitches: knit, purl, yarn over, increases and decreases (explained in the pattern)
  • knitting in rows and in the round

Size: For all sizes - fully variable in size.

Original Yarn: Moira by Filace (350 m / 383 yd per 100 g); or a variegated yarn of similar weight.
Yardage: depending on size - children up to size 98 = 100 g, 104-116 = 150 g, 122-134 = 200 g. Women's sizes: 36/38 (S) = 250 g, 40/42 (M) = 300 g, 44/46 (L) = 350 g, per double size 50 g more.
Needle size: 4.0 to 5.0 mm (US size 6 to 8, UK size 8 to 6)

Notions: stitch markers, contrasting thread (or additional cables from interchangeable needle systems) to place stitches on hold, scissors, needle for sewing in threads.

Have fun with your needlework!

Schade!

    Tolle idee
Was eine tolle Idee.
