Sweet shells make a wonderful little cotton bag that is just about perfect for summer days. Simple shell and post stitches are crocheted around a base of single crochet stitches. Finish the bag with a shell stitch edging, shoulder straps and a crocheted button. Add a crocheted flower for an eye-catching embellishment.

Skill level: Intermediate.
Instructions: This pattern PDF includes three pages of written instructions.
Please note: Instructions come in an easy to read, easy to understand pattern and are written in U.S. crochet terminology.

Size: Approximately 20" in circumference (or around) and 7 1/2" in depth.
Materials List
Materials: Yarn: The bag shown in the photo is crocheted in "Emilia" (a sports weight or size 3) yarn from Omega Yarns. Since gauge is not crucial on this project, you can use almost any sports weight or DK weight yarn. You will need approximately 500 yards to complete this bag.
Tools: U.S. size F crochet hook.

I really wanted the pattern to make a crochet waistcoat for myself like the one I made for myself when i was about 29 years old which is a long time ago now. I'm 79 yrs old now

Fantastic pattern
Not an easy pattern to follow (I ended up sewing each flower together separately as I couldn't get the hang of the joining. It still turned out well though.
