IMPORTANT: This pattern does NOT include technical instructions for double-face knitting. Proficiency in the basic techniques—or a willingness to learn them (for example, by using one of the many well-explained online videos)—is a prerequisite for completing this project.

Using 3 mm knitting needles, I worked with a yarn that has a gauge of 26 stitches by 36 rows over 10 x 10 cm. With this, the project measures approximately 25 cm x 25 cm. The cloth can be extended along any of its edges by adding stitches in a single color in any direction.

Yarn. Depending on your tension and the specific yarn and needle size you choose to use, the requirements may vary. Plan for approximately 125m of yarn per color. For items that babies might put in their mouths, it is always advisable to use a "superwash" yarn made from organic cotton, bamboo, or a similar material!
