Get inspired by the "happiness hormone" dopamine! This shawl combines science and handcraft in a wonderful way. The hexagon shape is reminiscent of the dopamine molecule and gives the shawl a unique, modern silhouette – not a classic triangular shawl, but an accessory with character.
The highlight is the Latvian braid in contrasting color, which surrounds the shawl like a "hormone frame". There are also playful pompoms at the corners – optionally with I-cord "hormone tails".
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (garter stitch, purl, kfb increases, braid technique)
Shape: Hexagon (not a classic triangular shawl)
Special Features: Latvian braid, pompoms, optional I-cord tails
Language: English (German version also available)
Format: PDF pattern with step-by-step instructions
individual
Yarn: 300g fingering weight (400-420m) in main color + 100g contrasting color
Needle Size: Circular needle 3.0-4.0 mm (for nice stitch definition in garter stitch)
Notions: Stitch marker (openable), measuring tape, pompom maker approx. 55mm, possibly knitting spool/I-cord maker, tapestry needle, scissors
No resale of the instructions, or duplication, etc. Also no sale of a finished part!
**But it would be really wonderful if you could show your finished pieces here. This encourages others and it is always great to see how different tastes are and how beautiful every single piece is!
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
