Circular needles in size 4.0 mm (US 6) to obtain gauge, with a length of 40 cm (16 inches), or long circulars for the magic loop method. Optional: double-pointed needles to work the crown.
You can work the entire hat with circular needles using the magic loop method or start with circular needles and switch to double-pointed needles at the crown.

DK / aran / worsted weight yarn or yarn to obtain gauge
Gepard Garn, Woolia (aran; 100% merino wool, 132 m (144 yds) per 50 g)
