The VERSA hat is the perfect companion for cold days: warm, comfy, and easy to knit. Whether sporty in high-contrast stripes or delicate in fine color transitions – this cozy basic accessory adds a fresh, playful touch to any outfit. The double-folded brim keeps the ears extra warm, and the inner ribbing ensures a perfect fit.
The simple pattern makes it ideal for beginners, while the recurring color blocks will also delight more experienced knitters. And it takes just a few hours to make this hat. What’s practical: leftover yarn can be incorporated into stripes wonderfully, which makes this hat a canvas for creative color experiments with scraps. Choose your favorite colors (or leftover yarn) and start your little knitting project for cozy autumn and winter days.
You will start with the brim and work the whole hat in the round. The pattern includes two options for the brim: a simple one for beginner knitters and an advanced version with provisional cast-on and three-needle joining for more experienced knitters.
GAUGE
19 sts x 30 rounds = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in stockinette stitch on larger needles, after blocking
The pattern is suitable for advanced beginners.
You get a multiple page PDF document with written row by row instructions; Techniques are described and video tutorial links are provided.
