The FREYA cowl: a perfect match between the luxurious organic yarn Cashmere Delizia and the beautiful, unique FREYA “faux“ cable pattern. The voluminous yarn provides a fantastic stitch definition (especially in the lighter colorways) and creates an extraordinarily soft and lightweight fabric to keep you warm and cozy throughout the colder months. Be warned, it might be hard to ever wear anything else close to your skin after experiencing this outstanding yarn.
The cowl is mainly worked in the round. It starts with 1x1 ribbing, followed directly by the pattern which is shaped entirely by decreases and increases. The lower section is finished in rows to create a slit, making the cowl particularly comfortable to wear. The final section is worked in 1x1 rib again. Cast-on and bind-off can be worked with the tubular method for a professional finishing touch.
One idea behind this simple design is to help you become familiar with the wonderful FREYA pattern in rounds and rows, so that you can work it by heart when starting one of the more elaborate FREYA patterns, like the sweater or the shawl.
