This dress is the sister to my #lihansweater. It’s a cute kind of tunic dress, which comes in a ton of sizes and options. It’s a circular yoke top-down construction: you can decide if you like a plain stockinette stitch dress with nearly invisible increases or if you prefer a summery, eyelet increase or or a textured nupp increase. You can also choose from a range of options for the sleeves: short sleeves or straight or shaped long sleeves as well as 2 options for the skirt width. You can mix and match as you prefer.

Sizing is a guide only and you should pick the finished measurement size closest to the child’s measurements plus 5-10 cm (2-4 inches) of positive ease. The dress has a relaxed fit like a sweater, if you like a more fitted version just choose a size smaller or less ease. But as children grow quickly, you make nothing wrong with knitting a larger size!

NEEDLES
Circular needle to obtain gauge: recommended 4,0 mm (US 6)) with a length at least of 60 cm (24 inches) Optional: double-pointed needles for working an i-cord closure and for the sleeves (if you don’t want to work the sleeves with the magic loop method). The i-cord edges can be worked with the circular needle.
YARN
DK weight or yarn to obtain requested gauge
Eg: Sandnes Garn Duo (DK; 55% Merino wool, 45% cotton; 124 m (136 yds) per 50g), colourway 4631 Lys Syrin
Or Sandnes Garn Line (worsted weight; 53% cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen; 110 m (120 yds) per 50g) colourway 8561 Støvet grønn (+ 6841 Støvet Aqua for the i-cords)
