For this pattern, you should know how to work a magic loop as well as how to crochet half double crochets in the back loop only.
The heart design is worked using the tapestry crochet technique, so it is helpful if you also know how to change colours and carry yarn.
The unused yarn is carried throughout the entire rounds so that the thickness remains even and there are no loose strands.
Size:
The basket has a diameter of approximately 10 cm and is about 9 cm high when worked with a similar yarn weight.
Material:
Aran Yarn (Group 4):
The yarn is held double throughout the whole project.
I used yarn which had 50 gr to 85 m
Approx. 50 gr. in green and approx. 12 gr in white.
You can also easily use a different yarn. Just make sure to adjust the crochet hook accordingly, as the final size will change depending on the yarn used.
Crochet hook 5 mm
The Pattern is written in US terms:
St: Stitch
Ch: Chain
Slst: Slipstitch
Sc: Single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
Hdc Blo: half double crochet in back loop only
Dc: double crochet
Ch sp: chain space
inc: Increase, work 2 Sc in the stitch
G: Green
W: White
The Basket:
The working yarn is held double throughout the entire project.
Start with a Magic Loop in green and work 6 sc into it and finish the Round with a slst.
End the rounds always with a slst and begin the new round with a chain stitch. Work the whole base in green.
.jpg)
1. Round: increase each stitch (12 sc)
2. Round: *1 sc, inc* 6 x (18 sc)
3. Round: *2 sc, inc * 6 x (24 sc)
4. Round: *3 sc, inc * 6 x (30 sc)
5. Round: *4 sc, inc * 6 x (36 sc)
6. Round: *1 sc, inc * 6 x (42 sc)
7. Round: *1 sc, inc * 6 x (48 sc)
From now on, the piece is worked in spiral rounds, just start the very first Round with a chain 1. I would recommend to mark the first stitch of each round.
Important: All following stitches are half double crochets worked in the back loop only.
