Christmas is just around the corner, and we all are gearing up to decorate our home and prepare gifts for our loved ones. I’m pretty excited to share a quick and easy Christmas pattern with you today. Get ready to create this small and delightful Reindeer Coaster that is the perfect handmade accessory for your home or workspace and is sure to bring a smile to your face every time you use it. It also makes a great Christmas gift. The coaster is crocheted in one piece in spiral rounds with single crochet stitches. A crochet coaster is the perfect project for both beginners and experienced crocheters. For your magical moments or as a nice gift for someone special! A lovely giveaway for friends and relatives. It´s a very simple design which can be made in any desired colors. The pattern is very detailed. It comes with easy-to-follow written instructions and a photo tutorial. Ready to make one?
SUPPLIES YOU NEED
ca 40 gr cotton yarn (e.g. Schachenmayr Catania 125m/50g) in the following colors: brown, beige and yellow, a bit of red and white for the muzzle and nose, crochet hook 2,5 mm, polyester fiberfill stuffing, chopstick or something similar to help with stuffing small parts, stitch marker, scissors, yarn needle, safety eyes or little black beads 5-7 mm.
Using different materials and hook size to what is recommended may alter the final appearance of your ready item. I suggest using cotton yarn. Cotton is easy to care for. It’s absorbent, so it’ll soak up your cold drink condensation and catch that moisture.
SKILL LEVEL
I would classify this free crochet pattern as an advanced beginner. It is necessary to have some experience with amigurumi before creating this project.
FINISHED SIZE
The ready drink coaster is approx. 10,5 cm in diameter, can be made bigger or smaller depending on the yarn and hook you use.

TIPS
- Do not join rounds, work in a continuous spiral
- Place a stitch marker or a piece of yarn at the beginning stitch of the round and move it up at the start of each additional round
- This pattern doesn´t include any specific stitch tutorials
- All stitches are worked into both loops, unless stated otherwise in the pattern
- The number of stitches for completion is noted in parentheses at the end of each round
- When filling with polyester stuffing, pull apart each large chunk into many smaller chunks. This ensures an even distribution of firmness within the amigurumi
- Amigurumi can be made in any desired colors
- The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology
Seamless way of changing color when working in the round
Pick up the new color at the end of the round: inset your hook into the stitch, yarn over the new color and pull through the stitch and the loop on your hook to complete the stitch.
To make a magic ring
- Loop the thread twice around your middle finger
- Put the hook under both loops, pull the yarn under the loops and hook the thread again
- Pull the thread through the new loop. The first crochet stitch is ready!
- Repeat the number of times needed.
- Pull the inner threads to tighten the ring.

The cup coaster consists of several parts which you crochet separately and then you will sew them together.

ASSEMBLY
Since all the elements of your reindeer coaster are crocheted, it´s time to sew them together. Use a blunt sewing needle.
Attach the nose to the muzzle, then sew the muzzle to the head of your reindeer. Use pins to position the nose and the muzzle on the head of the reindeer.
Eyes are attached to the head now. Mark where you want the eyes to be placed with pins and sew them with the distance of 4 stitches to the head of your reindeer. Be sure to step back and take a look to make sure they are even. Embroider eyebrows with brown colored yarn. Hide the yarn tails inside the head. You can add some pink blush on the cheeks if desired.
Ears are attached to the head now. Thread a needle on one of the yarn tails left from the ears, fold the bottom of the ear toward center and sew it to the other side. Place the ears in their right place on the head. Using the yarn left sew them to the head of your bunny. Be sure to step back and take a look to make sure they are even. Attach a muzzle to the head.
Sew antlers to the head. Be sure to step back and take a look to make sure they are even.
Sew legs to the coaster. Now attach head to the cup coaster. Ready!
