IMPORTANT: You are buying a PDF crochet pattern, NOT the finished tow truck.
This pattern is included in English AND German – both PDF versions are part of the download.
A tow truck to cuddle, about 45 cm long: a blue cab with white windows, a grey base and grey bumpers, four black tyres, an orange beacon and yellow lights at the front.
At the back sits the crane with its hook and ball, and next to it a wood-coloured tool box with its own lid and a little padlock.
On the front bumper there is a licence plate – before it is sewn on, you embroider the name of your choice onto it. That turns the truck into a personal gift.
19 pages, written row by row.
Photo note: The crocheted item is real and made by me. On some photos the background was AI-generated or digitally edited.
If you run into any trouble, or if an error has slipped in somewhere: please message me FIRST, before leaving a review – we'll sort it out together!
Required skills: chain (ch), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st), increase (inc), decrease (dec), magic circle (mc).
The stitches themselves are simple – everything is worked in single crochet. What makes it demanding is the construction: the base is worked in one piece, leaving stitches unworked on purpose and picking them up again later. Sewing all the separate pieces together also takes patience.
The pattern is a step-by-step PDF. Every round or row is written out individually, with photos for each stage of the build.
The truck is about 45 cm / 18 inches long.
Gauge: 16 stitches × 16 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 inches.
Used: Schachenmayr Bravo (100 g = about 165 m / 3.5 oz = about 180 yds).
• 200 g blue (8211)
• 100 g grey (8295) and white
• leftovers in black, off white (8200) and wood (8197)
• leftovers in orange and yellow for the lights – I used a thinner yarn held double here
• stuffing
• hook 4 mm
• darning needle
• scissors
You are welcome to sell your finished trucks, as long as you include a note "Made from a pattern by Masche-fuer-Masche" with a link to my shop. The pattern itself is for private use only – it may not be sold, gifted, shared or published in any way, in any language.
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
