Palm Leaf Wrap

We are frequent visitors to an animal sanctuary near Bristol. It is home to a large number of exotic species which feel at home surrounded by palm trees. The large number of trees provide enough shelter to make such a sanctuary possible.

While strolling through this tropical paradise recently I was inspired by the straight leaves of the palms and thought of using brioche in two colours. This is the result.

Knitted in mohair and silk it is light and luxurious. Drape it over your shoulders for effect or wrap up warm in winter.

The wrap is knitted in one piece starting with an Italian cast on for brioche in two colours. It has a 16 row pattern repeat and ends with an Italian sewn bind off.

One size only. The size can be easily adjusted but please bear in mind you will need more yarn.

Main colour and contrast colour: Rowan Kidsilk Haze; 70% Mohair, 30% Silk (210m/25g); 2 balls each of colour 595 und 580.
4.5 mm circular needle 40 cm long
3.75 mm circular needle 40 cm long for the Italian cast on.
